Fine weather reflected in turnover

Spring has played into the hands of the building industry and, as a result, the sun is shining brightly for the EUROBAUSTOFF cooperation with regard to its buying volume.

With an increase of 19 %, it has seen not only the best March since its founding in 2004 but also, with 8.8 %, its best ever quarter despite the disappointing result in February.

“We know,” says Ulrich Wolf, Chairman Management Board, putting the figures into perspective, “that these figures are thanks to the sales performance of our partners in the region, not due to buying. To be able to support them locally in the best way possible we established our service campus in Bad Nauheim and Karlsruhe a few years ago which we permanently further develop.”

A detailed look at the results of the various sectors reflects the decisive role of the major players and wholesale:

Building Construction, Roofs & Façades as well as Dry Construction and Insulating Materials, in particular, each with more than 20 %, made a significant difference. The turnover increase generated by Underground Construction and Gardens and Landscaping – the greatest increase with more than 29 % in March – is also above the values of the entire cooperation.

Hartmut Möller, EUROBAUSTOFF managing director responsible for goods, thinks that this successful development is not only due to the weather. “Of course this plays a decisive role in the landscaping sector. However, our specialists, in particular, are ideally positioned to make best use of the open air season and even fulfil exceptional requirements thanks to our sales concepts, modern exhibitions and consistent marketing measures.” More and more partners are also discovering the opportunities offered by the garden and landscaping sector and this has also been noticed by the EUROBAUSTOFF central warehouses. “We are in talks with the persons responsible for this, more than ever before, to intensify the exchange in favour of our specialist retailers,” emphasises Möller. However, this joint approach can only be productive in sales as well as in buying with consistently trained specialist staff who – along with well-filled order books and good-humoured investors – are the final link in the chain. “Here, too, we are able to offer our partners a good service. Thirty specialist advisors have recently successfully completed their training in gardening and landscaping in Göttingen and 100 in dry construction – and this tendency is increasing.
